Comfort Colors Color Chart: The Most Popular 1717 Colors, Explained
Comfort Colors makes the 1717 heavyweight tee in more than 60 shades, and they all have that soft, washed, garment-dyed look. This color chart groups the most popular ones by family, so you can see at a glance which neutrals, pastels, earth tones and brights are out there, and which one fits what you want to wear.

Good to know before you scroll: the swatches below are approximate screen colors, not official codes. Comfort Colors doesn't publish hex values, screens differ, and because every shirt is dyed after it's sewn, the real color varies a little from tee to tee. Use this chart to compare shades, then check the product photos before you buy.
Neutrals: Pepper, Graphite, Sandstone and more
The best sellers for everyday wear and gym tees. Pepper and Graphite are the dark washed greys, Sandstone and Khaki the warm beiges, Ivory a soft off-white.

Pastels: Blossom, Chalky Mint, Butter
Soft, slightly dusty pastels. These are the colors you see on sorority tees, bachelorette merch and spring drops.
Earth tones: Terracotta, Mustard, Sage, Moss
Warm, muted colors that look great in fall and pair well with denim and olive.
Blues: Blue Jean, Denim, True Navy
From light washed blues to deep navy. Blue Jean is the faded denim classic; True Navy is the darkest.
Reds, pinks and brights: Watermelon, Crunchberry, Berry
The statement colors. Watermelon and Crunchberry are bright and summery; Berry and Wine are deeper and work year-round.
Greens and purples: Seafoam, Emerald, Violet
New Comfort Colors shades for 2026
Retailer color lists for 2026 add Dusk (a muted mauve), Rose Quartz (a soft pink-lilac) and Neon Cantaloupe, and list Lagoon Blue under the shorter name Lagoon. Colors come and go each season, so if you need one specific shade, check that it's still in stock before you plan around it.
Why Comfort Colors look different from other tees
- Garment-dyed. The tee is sewn first and dyed after, so seams and collars take color slightly differently. That's where the vintage look comes from.
- Soft-washed. The shirts are washed after dyeing, which softens the cotton and mutes the color a little.
- Pre-shrunk. The dye process also shrinks the cotton, so they barely shrink at home.
- Heavyweight. About 6.1 oz cotton, so even light colors don't go see-through.
How to pick a Comfort Colors color
| You want | Pick |
|---|---|
| A gym tee that hides sweat | Pepper, Graphite, Black, True Navy |
| Goes with everything | Pepper, Sandstone, Ivory, Grey |
| Soft and girly | Blossom, Chalky Mint, Butter, Orchid |
| Fall and earthy | Terracotta, Mustard, Sage, Moss |
| Bright and summery | Watermelon, Crunchberry, Lagoon, Island Reef |
Print color matters too: cream and off-white ink look warm on dark shades like Pepper; dark ink reads best on pastels and neutrals like Ivory and Sandstone.
Why we only print on Pepper
We tried a lot of colors and kept one. Pepper hides sweat and lint, looks good at 6 a.m. under gym lights and at noon in the sun, and makes our cream back prints look warm instead of stark. Every AESTH. tee is a Comfort Colors 1717 in Pepper, so you only have to pick the design and your size (our Comfort Colors size chart explains how many sizes to go up).
