The Comfort Colors 1717 is the heavyweight, garment-dyed tee every AESTH. design is printed on. It's cut unisex and runs roomy, so the right size depends on the look you want. Here's the full size chart, plus a simple rule for sizing up.

Chest width is measured flat from armpit to armpit, so double it for the full circumference. Length runs from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem.

Does Comfort Colors run big or small?

Comfort Colors runs true to size with a relaxed, boxy cut. It's a unisex tee, so compared with a fitted women's tee it feels a size bigger; compared with a regular men's tee it fits about the same, just a little roomier through the body. The heavy, garment-dyed cotton hangs straight down instead of clinging, which makes it look bigger than the numbers suggest.

Comfort Colors 1717 vs Gildan 5000

The Gildan 5000 is the other tee you'll see on almost every shop. Here's how they compare:

Does Comfort Colors run smaller than Gildan? No. Chest widths are close size for size, and the 1717 usually feels a little roomier because of how the heavier cotton hangs. If you wear a Gildan in M, an M in Comfort Colors fits the same or slightly looser.

Start from the size you'd normally wear in a women's tee, then go up by the look you're after:

The easiest way to pick: measure a tee you love

Take a tee that already fits the way you want. Lay it flat, measure armpit to armpit and compare it to the chest column above. That beats guessing from your usual size every time.

Do Comfort Colors shirts shrink?

A little. (Full answer and washing tips: do Comfort Colors shirts shrink?) The 1717 is 100% ring-spun cotton and garment-dyed, so most of the shrink already happened in the dye process. Expect up to about half a size in the wash, mostly in length, if you tumble dry hot. To keep it the way it came:

wash cold, inside out
tumble dry low, or hang to dry
skip bleach and high heat

If you want to play it safe, size up one more and let it shrink into place.

Why the 1717 for a pump cover?

It's heavyweight (around 6.1 oz) so it drapes instead of clinging, garment-dyed so it feels broken-in from day one, and the back is a big flat canvas for the print. Every AESTH. tee is printed on the back only, in cream ink, with nothing on the front.
